Ladies Christmas Lunch
A Festive Affair to Remember
The annual Ladies Christmas Lunch hosted by Christine Sellers was a delightful celebration filled with laughter, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments. This year, the event sparkled with a perfect blend of heartfelt acknowledgements, entertaining performances, and festive fun.
At the start of the luncheon, a special tribute to the “80’s Ladies” is what kicked off this event by acknowledging each woman who attended over the age of 79. Music filled the air as Carl Benz serenaded the ladies with nostalgic Christmas songs, setting a joyful tone for the afternoon. Adding to the excitement, Darlene Loose entertained the audience with her rendition of Crazy, which brought smiles to everyone in the room.
Another resident, Joyce Jennings brought her Zumba flair to the event with her group, affectionately known as the “Four Lakes’ Men”. They stole the show with their lively performance, showcasing their dance moves with some humor that had the crowd laughing and cheering them on.
After that performance, it was time to move on to the icebreaker game, “Question-Gift-Steal” which had residents getting to know each other a little better. In this game, the moderator asks a question, and if that question relates to you, you could get up and take a present from the front. As time went on, and all presents were claimed from the table, it was time to “steal” presents from others in the room (some of which had more than one present). This hysterical game had everyone laughing and strategizing – It was the perfect way to mix and mingle. Melody Cook wrapped up the games by reading a beautifully written Four Lakes poem that captured the essence of the community at Christmas time.
The lunch also featured a “Raffle with a Purpose”, where all proceeds collected were dedicated to supporting Four Lakes Charities. It was heartwarming to see the generosity of the attendees, knowing their contributions would make a positive impact on the community.
Once a blessing was made for the meal, individual tables were dismissed to grab a plate of delicious food to enjoy! The Ladies Christmas Lunch was a success. Here’s to the incredible women of Four Lakes and the memories that continue to bring us together! We would love to see you at the event in 2025!
