Four Lakes Covid Vaccine Event
March has been an exciting month so far! Recently, Four Lakes Golf Club was selected to host a 3 day vaccination event for not only CRF residents but all 65+ seniors in the surrounding area as well. Once we were notified by the State of Florida, we sprang into action and organized one of the biggest events ever hosted at Four Lakes Golf Club! Our residents and community are important to us so we were honored to be approved for such an amazing undertaking.
Hundreds of calls poured into our pop-up call center from Florida residents hoping to get their vaccine. This event was pulled together in less than a week and made it possible for over 2,500 Floridians to be vaccinated in a matter of 3 days! The event was a huge success and we were beyond grateful to be a part of such an impactful opportunity.
Because of planning and organization, wait times were low (around 15-20 minutes at our busiest moments) to get patients registered and checked in before proceeding to see the nurses. This would not have been possible without the volunteers that stepped up to do their part in making this happen. Folks that had a hard time walking were shuttled to & from their vehicles. If there was someone that couldn’t make it into the Clubhouse then a nurse greeted them outside and vaccinated them right there on the spot!
It was an impressive site and an inspiring movement. I had a chance to speak with Courtney, the head nurse on-site, who said a lot of the 
nurses (including herself) had gone over three weeks without a single day off. That is dedication! We want to extend a huge “thank you” to everyone involved. Their dedication, professionalism, and positive attitudes made this event such a great success! Thank you to the Region 4 Incident Management Team, nurses, FEMA, State of Florida, Polk County Health Department, National Guard, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, CRF staff members and Governor Desantis.
