Four Lakes From Our Perspective
Cheryl Dobbs, Four Lakes Sales Agent & resident of the community. Coming from the state of Ohio, living at Four Lakes is like being on vacation every day. Even though I work every day, there is still always something fun to do, from the beautiful restaurant, lounge, fitness center, library, Movie Theater, huge dance floor, gorgeous pool, weekly entertainment, golf, boating and so much more. I feel that moving here has been a great decision for my husband and myself.
The bowling league at Four Lakes has always been a favorite activity of mine. While we do not have a bowling alley in the community, we have a lot of active bowlers and it is only a short distance to the local bowling alley. It is a great way to make new friends and have a great time!
On Mondays, we have what we call “Jackpot”. Four Lakers gather in the clubhouse great room, and for a mere dollar, you can participate in the drawing. Lot numbers are drawn out of a hopper and the winner wins whatever is collected that night. We also have a 50/50 drawing and other games to participate in. At this gathering, tickets are sold for events that are held during that month.
Another “perk” is that we have an on-site Activities Director who curates day trips, overnight trips, and cruises for the residents to take part in. She also puts on an entertainment series which include tribute bands, comedians, etc. for the residents to enjoy.
Corn Hole is an activity that is enjoyed by Four Lakers. We set up the boards and bags in the Great Room and participants pay $1.00 to play. The money collected is presented to the winners. Sometimes there are as many as 60 playing!
The Four Lakes Grill/Restaurant/Lounge has always been a favorite of mine. From the full-service menu to the daily and evening specials it has become a lovely convenience! The food is excellent and there is always something going on at the grill after dinner, i.e. darts, trivia, Bingo, “horseracing”, and of course, our all-you-can-eat fish dinner on Friday night.
The biggest advantage of living in this community is the sense of family that is here. I have customers who move here just for the loving atmosphere. We all have peace of mind knowing that if something happens to one, then the community will rally behind you.

I have worked at the Four Lakes Sales office going on 11 years and the integrity of this neighborhood, staff, and its residents has never wavered. The continual upkeep of the appearance of the grounds and common areas is one of the benefits of having an on-site Park Manager who cares for the continued maintenance and improvement of the park because it’s not just a job, it’s their home.
I have had the privilege to watch as new buyers become residents, and they quickly get connected in different groups and become good neighbors and friends. One perk of working in the office is getting to participate in certain events or functions that go on within the community. I have attended live band performances held up in the Great Room, along with dances, runway fashion shows, pool parties, and plays.
I’m continually amazed at how active the residents are and laugh with them teasing that they live a more exciting life than myself! This community is definitely “Resort Style Living” at its finest, and I feel proud to be a part of something so great. Helping people to not only find a home but a place where they can thrive and live life each day as if they are on vacation is one of the most satisfying jobs a person could ask for.
